Each of these three prints contains the same nine pebbles, but arranged in a different composition each time. Each pebble is based on an actual pebble borrowed from a beach visited in the last four years. Each has something special that caught my eye. Two are not real pebbles at all, but fragments of brick, smoothed to roundness by the action of the waves.
Sometimes pebbles need to be balanced precariously, teetering on the edge of falling. Sometimes they pile up more readily, happily sitting in towers. Other times they like to be arranged perfectly precisely, like museum specimens ready to go on display.
The prints are finished with iridescent and pearlescent inks so one or two pebbles shimmer when they catch the light.
